Honeycomb Cellular Window Shade on double doors

Our Cellular Shades are a great addition to any room and provided a stylish alternative to our wood blinds product line!  As where woodblinds have a tendancy to either completely block light or let most of it through, cellular shades have a "filtering" effect as light glows through the translucent fabric.  With the large selection of styles, colors, and options there is almost no end in what you can do with them to meet your interior decorating needs.

A brief summary of benefits of cellular shades:
  • Superior energy efficiency and durability.
  • Concealed lift cords insure superior privacy and light control.
  • Many styles available with Top-Up, Bottom-Down feature.
  • Ability to choose between light filtering, our normal cell shade construction, or light blocking with the Blackout Honeycomb shade.

What is the benefit of Cellular Shades?

Honeycomb window shades offer three distinct benefits to the home owner or apartment dweller: energy efficiency, improved privacy, and the stylish Top-Down, Bottom up feature.

The cell shade allows maximum efficiency in two ways.  First, the shade filters the amount of light that comes into the room.  As where opening a blind allows light to pour in and pound down on the room, these window shades illuminate the rooms with a soft, warm glow.  Second, the cellular shades acts as an insulator.  The honeycomb construction of the shade traps air in the middle of the shade providing a barrier between the heat outside and the cool inside air - just like the insulation in your walls!

Once installed, cell shades provide improved privacy over your typical blind because there are no holes in them for the lift string.  A blind normally has several "rout" strings that allow you to lift the blind; these strings run through a hole that is drilled into the slat.  When the blind is closed, it is actually possible to "peek" through these little holes and see into the adjoing room.  Our cellular products do not have these rout holes, and thus, no holes to peek through!  With a Wood Blinds and Shutter Factory honeycomb shade installed, you can be sure your privacy is protected.

As you can see in the picture to the left, many of our cellular shades come with the unique Top Down, Bottom up lift feature.  This allows you to lift our honeycomb shades from the bottom like a normal blind or lower them from the top, an effect you just cannot match with your typical window blind!  To see how this sleek styling feature has been used to accent interior designs, take a quick look at the photo gallery below.

The Blackout Cellular Shade is featured in the image to the right.  Notice how, unlike your standard window blind, you are able to block out 100% of the incoming light except when you decide to open the shade?  This can be a great added feature for rooms such as a nursery.  This effect is achieved by lining the inside of the cellular fabric with a thin, foil like material that is completely opaque - no light can get through!
